Jamie is still at school, Nick is still tired, and we are perfectly ready to hopefully clear up most of the weird information that came from the Xbox One reveal event. Follow this dog btw
There is some Persona 4 Arena talk after all that (since it FINALLY came out in Australia) and maybe a little bit of loving the new Guilty Gear trailer.
Be sure to make sure you listen out for a brand new tradition that Nick starts, right in your face.
We missed the Halloween special time slot but here we are with sickness, more Borderlands 2, Community, The Flash, super hero antics, and Assassins Creed 3!
Short post because EVERYTHING IS HECTIC!
Here is our next game play series prelude, and its looking pretty booossssssss
After their two week hiatus the boys are back in town, via the train station, cause thats where The Nerd Train arrives,
With some kind of convention under his belt Jamie discovers his lust for things that are great is insatiable! so we have a bit of a chat aboutcomics, but after that we hit up some tasty game talk!
Xcom enters the fray, so does Ghost Recon for all the wrong reasons and many! many more!
welp, since Nick cant actually finish a sentence without snotting or coughing or gacking no podcast this week either, but remember, we love you, and will make it up to you.
More Left 4 Dead 2 maps, waiting with ever bated breath for scott pilgrim online multiplayer, Jamie hitting a convention and the rest…well you might just have to listen to find out!
check out www.youtube.com/thenerdtrain for our alan wake and shadows of the damned antics,
Jamie is back at school and Nick gives you a crash course in just how to party like a twenty something year old awesome guy,
After that we get into some Age Of Empires 2 talk, which is pretty boss, as neither of our illustrious conductors have played it for quite some time, Nick also can’t believe Jamie forgot to try the Just Cause 2 Multiplayer beta!
Sleeping dogs got ordered on steam, Death Rally was pretty sweet, F3AR finally rears its head and Orcs Must Die 2 happened. Oh and lets not forget that Jamie and Nick are super harsh about new sonic games, and we finally talked about sonic generations properly.
We like to move it move it, didn’t you know?!
Up a bit later than usual but here it is!
After seeing spider man James decided this week he would see The Dark Knight Rises and give it his critique! which leads nicely into the fact that he performed the first Nerd Train video book club challenge and watched all of game of thrones, some slight spoilers pop in there but its all stuff that anyone who minds will already know or have already seen.
Ever noticed how varied online articles about the same thing tend to be? we have, and we saw an example this week.
We discuss some Mass Effect 3 multiplayer since we both played a bit of that these past weeks and then we talk about how much we are looking forward to a few titles such as Orcs Must Die 2 and Deadlight.
Oh and don’t forget Nick kept his promise to check out DayZ and uploaded some more Alan Wake!
Happy first birthday to The Nerd Train!
In honor of this event we spent the first twenty minutes or so remembering some of the trials and tribulations of getting this podcast into full ass kicking mode, as well as recount a few of our favorite memories.
After that its into some game talk since we both brought a lot of games in the steam sales, including Dead Island and an adventure game that turned out to be much more awesome than anyone could have anticipated!
Some more comics enter the fray as Nick now has a better way to find complete story arcs and get them all without having to interact with people! and even though its a movie tie in game Jamie decided he should check out the latest Spider man game, with a little theme like action from Nick.
Hey! you should totally subscribe to us on youtube too! its pretty boss!
Some games we thought we wold never touch are tried and we weigh in some more then whole whole kinect thingymabobbin, but hey, the real winner here is you, because we also let you know of one of the greatest tricks of Lateral Thinking we have ever heard of.
We round it all off with a quick mention about a game we are getting excited for, and make sure we chat about some of the big voice actors prominent in our games over the last few years.
oh and here is where we are up to with our current Game Time series about Alan Wake
sorry about the no podcast guys but we were a bit busy making sure Jamie got a pretty great send off back to Melbourne, we will be back next week with some excellent awesomes.
There has been some more WWE12 in the mix, because we both hate ourselves but love stupid fun at the same time, but Nick was not impressed by RAGE, because well…its a game that feels like it was built for co op, but it hasn’t got it for the campaign. We then talk a bit about Borderlands, and reminisce about some old but awesome fun with Soldier Of Fortune.
But it does help us bring home some awesome talks about the feel of war games and where we feel a lot have gone wrong.
Jamie picked up a hobby, that hobby was Magic The Gathering, and so did people he knows, and crunchie shares some of his own experiences with card games.
and then we get to hear about how much Crunchie loves his there horror games.
and and just as a reminder…subscribe and watch Jamie and Nick be BOSS
Halo 4 …why do we talk about you, especially since it made us talk about Call Of Duty again…oh my ears and brain and ears…
The free Mass Effect 3 ending DLC hits tomorrow so we talk about our expectations of that, and we discuss the Assassins Creed franchise as a whole.
Lord Of The Rings : War In The North crosses Nick’s gaming desk, an oldie but a goodie, civilisation 4 finally got played, and its a little different from your usual RTS fixes, but Jamie trumped all of this by checking out two sweetindie titles that are definitely worth the price tag,
We top it all off by discussing how/where we think multiplayer games are going and where they all seem to be dragging their feet lately.
We will be uploading two parts of this play through weekly, as well as some other side projects we have on the ball, and to make sure you know, we will definitely be back next Tuesday with a podcast for your ears.
No podcast this week guys, since after hearing Jamie’s sniffles last week you probably dont want to hear Nick coughing his lungs out this week, there will still be some things popping up on our youtube channel though so keep your eyes on www.youtube.com/thenerdtrain
Before we start talking about E3 just passed Nick got his hands on a co op game he was yet to try, and finally got himself into some enhanced edition of The Witcher 2.
Jamie got a sweet deal on Max Payne 3 for the PC so you guys gotta hear about that, even though the euphoria engine fought him every step of the way.
Alan Wake comes up again since we got around to doing some recording that is being turned into the first Nerd Train playing games video, It’s gonna be a smash hit series! YOU JUST WATCH!
We do a quick run down of how we felt about E3 after all of that and talk about some of the big games that we were looking forward to or were dissapointed by.
and just before I disappear to keep editing like a madman, heres some tid bits from last week!
so there we have it! that was some arduous bullsharts!
and as everything went wrong and made me cry, we spoke a little about life as a whole, and all about how we had E3 just around the corner as we recorded.
DLC becomes a major focus of this one as we yearn for how it used to work, and even though Nick started talking about how much fun he had in a bit of Battlefield 3 Jamie makes sure we have some more GRUMPEHCAST moments!
Dragons Dogma is on the list of stuff we played, as well as a little more Diablo 3, we talked a little about how we are looking forward to see what happens with Hitman : Absolution and jamie remembers the whole “oh yeah i played Uncharted 3” part of his week.
Jamie is nearing the end of his semester and Mass Effect 3 rears its head as we talk about how its gonna get an update! but lets never forget about how sometimes we like to talk about Peter Molyneux.
But while we usually talk about new games there are so many old ones that are near and dear to our hearts! and we talk about how Nick missed the whole “OMFG SNES” era.
We both made sure we listened to the new Tenacious D album “Rize of the Fenix” and it was fairly tasty, and in a supreme twist of fate we both played through the indie game Dear Esther like we had been meaning to for a months.
Just before we wrap up we bust out with a demo Nick hated in the face and all about how we played a LOT of Diablo 3 this last week gone.
and just so you know, Previously on The Nerd Train…
