After my ISP shafting me, my real estate being awkward, and the local power company pissing about, Nick here didn’t get a chance to edit or sort the podcast, it might be up later this week if i get a chance but if not we will do an extra tasty edition next week.
Uploaded on Tuesday, as thats the day we rock your ears now.
Jamie should never be allowed to develop weaponry, just you know, sayin’
Also had some hamster riddled adventures in the life of Nick, Free Radical’s demise is mentioned because we only recently found out some more details, we smack talk about David Jaffe since he doesn’t even need to do anything of substance to make the news pages any more.
Wiiu possible launch games got leaked so we take a bit of a look at that list, There is some discussion about screens for the upcoming online game set in the elder scrolls world, and just so you know theres some weird arse things going on in the THQ offices concerning saints row the 3rd.
Banging on a bit about the AUS censorship board and talking about Left 4 Dead 2 leads us into some ripping on CODBLOPS2 before we round off this weeks podcast of destiny.
This week we start with some anecdotes from Japan!
We bust out with the weekly updates and Jamie sheds a tear as he has his first Xbox Disc Mishap, but then we make it all better by talking about all the video games ever!
Nick also makes sure that Jamie knows all about the terrifying truth of what’s been revealed about Call Of Duty : Space soldier, DOTA 2 gets tried which is unfortunate for Nick, we talk about how we want to try out a sequel to a free game, and then suddenly theres SEXY HIKING!
Tuesday is the day that there will be a Nerd Train IN YO FACE from now on, because it just works better :p
We bust out with some sleep deprivation right off the start and then, theres a cut down version of us signing up for pottermore.com so we can be all sorted into a house, and you get to hear EXACTLY HOW AWFUL it is.
Last week was possibly the most frustrating week for both of our faithful conductors, but they have both arrived at the station, on time and dressed to eat at a buffet.
Although Jamie does now and then sound like he is on the other side of a tunnel full of DOODLES, its an issue that’s been sorted.
Nick spent a lot of time checking out what he missed on xbox live during his internet downtime, there is some joy filled explanations of what exactly Skull Girls is all about, and since Nick Finally picked up the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection there’s plenty of stealthy shock rod shenanigans.
well, after Telstra finally sorting out my internet here it IS!
Nick’s new house has a Spower, which is amazing, Jamie gets his Ghetto shower tears on, and we quickly discuss Easter!
We both got in as much gaming as we could which meant that Jamie played with some new fancy shmancy disks he got given and Nick revisited some games starting with “A” in his collection.
All of it tasty, all of it nice, and there is some interesting talk of a budget game we had FAR too much fun with close to the end.
Hopefully in a day or so my internet will finally be connected, and I can post the tasty morsel me and sir James recorded earlier this week, definitley gonna be running a cast next week, since if my internet isn’t finally connected and sorted I will be on the news, for terrorist activities against my ISP.
Hey guys, like it says above, Nick moved house, so he has no internet! I have thrown up a crappy thing for you to listen to if you need to hear my voice for closure. See you next week!
Its the dammit edition because EVERYTHING IN THE UNIVERSE TRIED TO STOP ME FROM POSTING.
But I have persevered and posted the pod cast that not even I could believe was going to make it at one point.
little bit eclectic this week as we covered about a million things, like ninja gaiden 3, the upcoming dead or alive 5, and the metal gear HD collection was mentioned, and a whole bunch of other things we enjoyed talking about,
plus we finally did a game time with the nerd train feature! so lets hear it for Jamie’s youtube début! (embedded below)
So because we simply can’t take this lying down we will be recording some supplemental pod casting tastyness tonight, and I’ll have it edited and uploaded possibly before the break of dawn tomorrow morning.
Stay strong true believers, and I’ll have us back up at running speed ASAP.
Nick gets angry about a few little nitpicks on xbox live and checks out the I Am Alive trial, and lives to tell you the tale, plus Jamie and Nick revisit some games they haven’t played for a while in an effort to have some multiplayerfuntimes.
Journey happened too, and Nick makes sure you know he had a lot of fun with this little indie title.
About halfway through this weeks cast we decide to put in a big old warning, and tell you that after that point there is going to be some discussion of Mass Effect 3, that includes about a million spoilers, so for those of you who haven’t finished Mass Effect 3 yet, make sure that when we say “spoilers ahead”, you end your Nerd Train experience for the week there.
Argulbargle we tried something different this time and recorded using Ventrilo! It probably wasn’t the best idea! So, hah, yeah! Jamie and Nick talk about games and parenthood and.. and games and ohmygoditsSOGREAT!
sorry about the lack of podcast this week people, mah cute little baby was born over the weekend so that kind of took over the time i usually use for recording and editing :p
but we will make a triumphant return to the land of the internet with stories aplenty and hopefully a ton of mass effect 3 reviewy awesome.
I guess this is where we should really get CRACKING!
Quick (yes really this time) rundown of the tester, and since he who has been named millions of times has been eliminated the tester rundowns will now probably constitute about 30 seconds from now on (lets try to keep this 30 theme going!) especially because the tester seems to make me (Nick) swear about a billion times more than usual.
We also tell you about how the baby is running late and share some words of wisdom from Pippin, that there varmint hobbit. (I hear he was the 30th Hobbit to ever eat his own shoes!) While in the meantime Jamie is going to tell you about how he has run off to join the circus *ah-hem* I mean go to University.
Video games abound as they become the bulk of this episode, covering various games like Mass Effect, Duke Nukem (30th worst game ever made), star wars, half-life 2, and some mechanics buried within like our shared hatred of intrusive quicktime events and tutorials.
but the good times don’t stop on The Nerd Train (30th most awesome thing ever?) as we update you on the kickstarter we are salivating over and Mosquitos, mans 30th most hated enemy.
P.S I made all those 30 themed elements up…except the podcast count…OR DID I!!!! *spooky music*
PNUT makes his podcasting debut as Jamie is predisposed moving interstate!
and boy do we keep the good times rolling in his absence!
Do we talk about the Mass Effect 3 demo? WHY YES WE DO!
What about checking out Binary Domain? THIS IS ANOTHER THING WE DID!
To kick it off right at the start we chat about the latest episode of “The Tester 3″ and some of the wacky antics of the contestants (possibly for a bit longer than we meant to :s), make sure you know just how manly we are, plus PNUT shares some fatherhood adventures.
Jamie finally got to hear an amazing rendition of “baa baa rainbow sheep” which I’m sure is everyone’s favourite song, and reminds us that we love Steve Hughes!
George Lucas has moved onto the next stage of his life and not only thinks he should do things that go against the grain of something he already laid down, but starts spiralling into senility. We also make sure you can go hear all about how everyone feels about the star wars prequels thanks to this handy dandy website.
Both of us made sure to watch the first episode of the tester season 3 when it premièred on youtube, and give you a bit of a run down of the contestants now that we had had more of a “taste” or their personalities.
Tim Shafer deals a blow to corporate publishers and while he is at it makes sure we all know about the indie games scene and how its been blowing up ALL OVER THE PLACE, and while we discuss that we then decide to tell you how we feel about big budget serialised games.
Jamie, is a man, who loves his hypotheticals, and makes sure you can acknowledge it, right before I have an awkward encounter with my cat, Beans.
Some upcoming television (kinda?) rears its head as we talk about our expectations of the next season of “The Tester”, a show sponsored by Sony where contestants try to win the chance to work at a game studio, which has a surprisingly high profile candidate appearing on it.
All the burning questions about the star wars old republic MMO have been sorted as I have now had the chance to throw my ten cents worth in.
Also make sure you keep your eyes and ears peeled because we should have an interesting audio experiment popping up sometime soon.
Awarded for marksmanship and overcoming all obstacles
It’s the 24th edition of The Nerd Train, and its a tasty morsel,
We check out a fewthings that have popped up on xbox live in the past week, and Jamie tells us all about his thoughts on a dating sim made my community members from 4chan called katawa shoujo,
Since we changed the room we are recording in theres a bit of a chat about the new digs, Jamie’s attention span is shown in its full glory and we make sure you know you need to check out “Twilight In A Moment”, a Lego animation made by a friend of ours.
so sit down, strap in, eat some corn flakes, and get ready.
When Nick is so unhealthy and stricken by a throat infection that he can hardly speak.
so sorry about this one guys, but we should be back in full swing by next podcast and hopefully have a few more projects and awesome stuff we can tell you about.
Anyhow, welcome to the new year! the year of DEATH AND DEAD.
Skyped this one as we were both actually really busy, but we covered a whole lot of stuff,
The new look of the website (still in progress), the fact that we are all still here, some movies, some games, some cartoons, and a fair whack of star wars.
Don’t forget the games that get to slide in along the way and all that superhero talk!
hell to the yes, or more like christmas to the yes! babycakes!
we tell stories of fantastic childhood memories, remember the first time we touched our preferred consoles as kids, cream about all the tasty tasty food that comes with christmas, and make sure that you know exactly what the christmas spirit is!
little bit more baby talk and theres a fair chunk of gaming, so settle in, buckle up, and get ready for christmas put on X-treme.
"The Christmas Ninja" and his sidekick, "Chrismas Skittles"
And so the Steam sales have begun, and as such, we are spending lots of moneys!
Bucks Nights enter the picture and you don’t even KNOW how much we just continue to carry on the traditional ribbings.
Harry Potter pops up again, and pottermore gets mentioned, but mostly because of how super scary people have been about their sorting via the sorting hat.
Little bit shorter than usual but hey, quality, has no adherence to time!
I also bet you haven’t heard of Clifford! well you will now, you don’t have a choice!
also, our tabletop gaming histories come to the surface and we maybe mention a little game called skyrim (that video is also being used as our outro music this week btw, much love to harry partridge for making awesome things)
Vindictive kitties, spiderman and bugs, WE GOT IT ALL BABEH
and some links! to things we talked about, like champs.
